A daily geography game where each wrong guess reveals more of the country's shape
Polynation is a daily geography game. A country's border appears as a rough polygon with just 6 vertices — barely recognizable — and with each wrong guess the shape gains more detail, cycling through 12, 20, 35, 60, and finally full resolution. Guess sooner, score higher.
The daily puzzle is shared by all players worldwide — seeded by date, no backend required. Spend 10 points to unlock a geographic hint — distance, compass bearing, continent, or shared border status. Solve a country enough times and you'll unlock curated facts about it, one at a time.
A practice mode offers unlimited rounds at three difficulty tiers, and a World Cup Shootout pits you against 48 FIFA 2026 nations on a 40-second clock. The shape-reveal mechanic runs on a custom implementation of the Visvalingam-Whyatt polygon simplification algorithm, precomputed at build time — so each level of detail always adds the most visually meaningful information first.
